The Osteoporosis Association is a nationwide organization for individuals with osteoporosis – brittle bones – and their relatives and others who have connections or engagement with the disease.
The association is built on voluntary efforts and is politically and ideologically independent.
We are the only patient organization that focuses its resources on the diagnosis of osteoporosis.
We have osteoporosis associations throughout the country.
The Osteoporosis Association works towards: • Raising awareness of osteoporosis as a disease. • Ensuring that individuals with osteoporosis receive a correct diagnosis and appropriate care. • Performing bone density measurements with DXA in the spine and hip for those with low-energy fractures. • Eliminating inequality in osteoporosis care. • Preventing osteoporosis.
An important task is to inform the general public, decision-makers, and everyone working in healthcare.
We organize lectures and contribute knowledge in many ways.
