DHS
DHS The Disability Movement in Helsingborg
DHS is a party-political and religiously unbound umbrella organization for local disability associations in Helsingborg, which was formed at the request of Helsingborg municipality in 1967.
DHS’ purpose is to coordinate and be a support for the various disability associations in the city and to pursue disability policy issues, mainly at municipal level.
DHS has a full-time ombudsman, Björn Tufvesson-Alm, as well as office staff, who carry out activities according to the board’s decisions.
DHS member associations have various activities both for your well-being and for you to progress with your social rehabilitation. Some associations also have courses in self-care. If you choose to organize yourself, you can work for a better everyday life for yourself and others in the same situation.
Organizing can also be a way to meet others and break social isolation. Through DHS, you can get information about your rights and be guided to the association that best meets your needs.
In addition to the core activities, DHS runs a number of other activities on behalf of the city of Helsingborg, see under the tab: Our activities
